Volunteer Program: Sharing Expertise
The Program
The Sharing Expertise program, introduced in 1991, was prompted by a growing need for voluntary service in society. Although volunteerism has been deeply ingrained in our society since Canada was founded, many essential community and social programs are today facing limitations because of a lack of human and financial resources.
In implementing the Sharing Expertise program, the Association accepted four challenges:
- Identify and provide for the needs of CGA members in order that they can be effective volunteers,
- Target 100% participation by the membership in voluntary services,
- Recognize members who demonstrate excellence in voluntary service,
- Promote the program to encourage acceptance.
Referral Service
Organizations requiring CGA volunteers are invited to submit an outline of their requirements to the Association. These requests will be circulated with mailings to the CGA membership.
To place a request, please forward an email including your mission statement to
Kathy Lambert.
