Scholarship Trust Fund

Founded in 1973 the Certified General Accountants Association of Manitoba has achieved a standing tradition of professional excellence. The Association has become Manitoba’s largest body of accounting professionals and earned the public’s trust and respect as a leader and innovator of accounting education and professional standards.

In support of the Association’s role to serve the public interest, CGA Manitoba's Board of Governors established The Certified General Accountants Association of Manitoba Scholarship Trust Fund (CGAMSTF) in 1989. The scholarship trust encourages educational excellence through the:

  • The provision of student scholarships and bursaries;
  • Capital funding of post-secondary educational institutions; and
  • Research/development beneficial to the advancement of the accounting profession/standards.

CGAMSTF scholarships encourage academic excellence and leadership amongst the CGA student body and as well, graduating students of university, college, and high school programs across Manitoba. CGAMSTF bursaries support students who may be in temporary need of financial assistance to carry on their professional studies. The Fund also contributes to the advancement of post-secondary business education and accounting standards by funding infrastructure improvements, accounting research, and academic development. An ambitious pledge by the CGAMSTF in 2003 is investing $1,000,000 over a ten year period into Manitoba post-secondary institutions, significantly improving the quality of learning that Manitoba’s university and college business students experience.
